long waiting times to change the view

a greeting to all the friends of the forum.
I happen, sometimes, to have a problem with autocad (2006), I expose it even if I seem to have already read something about it but I cannot find the discussion: changing view and then regenerating the model, the system compels me to particularly long waiting times. I presume it is due to some particular badly shaped or however that generates this problem. I say it because comparing it with much more complex models the phenomenon does not manifest. I had perhaps read that it is possible to "reconstruct" geometry (a sort of rebuild). Who helps me?

once it happened to me with a detail of a foot of a desk.. .
copying the drawing in a new dwg the problem has vanished.
the new file was lighter.
I don't know if it can work in your case.

I solved some of these problems by deleting the 3d element history.

selections all solids with a filter, then from the property whistle put chronology no.

thanks for the answers... Unfortunately, the problem exists. the commands indicated _brep and solidhist ella 2006 are not there.
if I change the view from top to front the system responds in 5".
from front to top in about 25".
Is there a way to analyze the model? (audit does not report any error).

Unfortunately the inserted blocks are a few hundred and I cannot "explode them".
I have much bigger models than on the same machine "wheel" in wireframe or shaded mode without any problem.

then, obviously you have to have all the layers on and not stuck, and then:

zoom extend > widen you with dynamic zoom and launch the command fuse > all > r > and select with a normal window (non crossing) all you want to remove from the deletion.
see what it tells you and sends, then try to remake audits and purges.

You can do this in any view, if the top fails from there.

Do you have dynamic blocks with many visibility states?
are there mtext with different font widths?

There are no xrif, image, mtext or anything. It's a "normal" autocad model.
what should you "see" on the corresponding dxf file, it could be a rather large file since the .dwg is about 24mb.

Well then try to let it open from another pc, maybe with 2010 or 2012 save it from there and see what happens.
and also you have verified that there are no anonymous blocks?
Sometimes they mess up the design.
