Good morning.
I was asked to create a set up for a test to verify the duration of lubrication of a system consisting of a trapezoidal screw + snail.
It's the first time I've been facing such a problem and on the web I've found nothing but evidence on ball bearings and screws. Could you give me some suggestions on how to determine the duration of the lubrication or where to take inspiration?
thanks in advance

the duration of the lubrication of a nail depends on the speed, roughness, operating temperature, contact pressure and type of lubricant, whether you reverse the motorcycle under load or not etc.
I would say that in literature there is no formula for me to know, that relates this to tell you that lubrication lasts for x hours. You have to make a stand and test.
and when is not lubricated? When does the couple go up? maybe not only but surely can be a parameter to evaluate.
If the couple salt I no longer have the fat, it warmed up and poured away, it ate the pigeon in bronze....

However if you want to find something about it, look for "acme screw lubrication duration" or something like... .

After a variety of research on the web, I couldn't find any formula or model that allows to determine the duration of lubrication between trapeze screws and mumps.
I therefore think that the only solution is to resort to experimental ways.
I have seen however that on the net are already present companies that provide opportunities and complete sets that can be used for that purpose.
