management of numerous references

Hello everyone, did any of you manage a product set with 3d references files? I explain better, I created an empty file called "assieme", and attack all 3d references that are part of the product in absolute coordinates, (implanants, setup, structure, mechanics...)the problem arises when the references begin to increase and therefore I have problems both at the opening of the file and in the management especially when I make sections.
I use v8i version 3.
someone found themselves in such a situation?

I use the process you described normally for my business,
what I can tell you and not use reference from within a same file but create a
precise hierarchy of files external to the file in use.
you can also create under reference categories and decide during creation which will be transported with the "parent" file
and what instead remain to the sole purpose of reference precisely.

hello thanks to the answer, I do not have too high number of reference attached, created empty files with criteria or absolute position or activity, I make you a simple example:
if I am planning a skyscraper I might think of creating an empty container file for each floor to which I collect all the files that belong to him (plans, structure apartments, stairs, doors....) all these files are connected precisely to the main file also empty (link together skyscraper,) with a set number of nesting.(I think that is what you mean by parent file....) when I open the main file I choose to reconnect only this is a management that I use with nx, but microstation for me is not suitable for managing an entire project, so you need to diversify the files not to overload the program. these difficulties I encounter. ....
Let me know if you have a different solution.

I don't understand I used exactly this way, and microstation, the last time I used it 4/5 years ago, it loaded everything without problems.
even if the pc was a coffee maker...... and I didn't take care of skyscrapers.

Let's see if I work on plan 10 I will have inside that file 2 references the plan below and the one above.
and of course files of all plants, light, gas, etc. etc.
but limited to that only plan, the tenth.
and just as obviously if I turn off/ignite the references of the 2 contiguous planes will turn off/light the lines of light, gas, etc.
finished that plan step to another and so on......

all this is adjustable in references management, file per file (if I remember well), through the nest depth parameter, always if I remember well.

Obviously this parameter will have to be the + high in the "assieme" file, so as to recall all the references of the plans, and their under cascading references.
and certainly this file will be very heavy to charge even 10 minutes, and also for a pc "belva"; but in short you will pull it up only 1 time in the day to have a vision of max. and check that there are no errors.

hello thanks to the answer, not project skyscrapers either, was an example to explain a type of structure very extended and that needs to be coordinated in all its activities (plants, structure.... )
in the company we have some pcs of the with xeon quad core quite recent, the method of connection of the sub reference you say is called nesting, but I tell you that when you exceed 200 mb the file becomes unmanageable, especially when I use the volume clips so I have to start to turn out references, and this is a very risky thing. . .
with nx in the past I managed these projects well, but I understand that it is not remotely comparable to microstation, all another type of management of files...for this I was wondering if they are completely off the road....premetto that the files could reach even more than 350 of number! !

a moment, 2 questions:

1) the 200 mb to what are referred to ?
to a single file, and if so what?
or all references?
2) the fire system, for example, is subdivided into tot. plane file or is it a single file?
I mean, when you work on the tenth floor, you're carrying all the fire system, or just the morning about that plan?

the pc seems good to me, my last pc was a hp xeon quad core, and............ I found myself wrong with nx.
I'm sure I didn't know (and I don't know) use it at best, but years ago with that coffee machine I went great on a microstation job.
