I also have the manual (two, I have that of simulation and simulation professional); I bought them through a dealer, att.ne are only in English.
I am oldstyle but I have been much more useful than the various tutorials.

Good morning to all, I write to you listing the quote of edoardo although probably my question is a bit more complex and despite looking (maybe bad) in the various discussions of the forum I have not yet found the answer I was looking for. premessa: I am approached only now to a software cad/fea to begin the design of boxed beams subject to mobile loads (and maybe extend over time the design to something more complex), having some technical base (ing. mechanics), someone from which I can acquire a little experience (although almost always I am forced to the DIY) and a discreet flexibility to the software for pc. sincerely I am not sure if swut is my solutionapplication: Can a component like simulation do to my case? I'll explain. on sw2010 premium is installed the xpress version that is very intuitive (as well as all the prrogram) and with some tutorials you can from scratch to do something interesting immediately. ..but definitely reduced. I read about the simulation component (I imagine both the full version) and I wanted to know about it because reading the guide from the link posted in this discussion I still can't understand if:
1) you can enter a force on a knot in particular and not on a surface (in xpress I do not see nodes but only surfaces)
2) it is possible to immeter a custom verification criterion, perhaps by editing the equations that are within the matrix of rigidity for the calculation of forces, moments and deformations

Sorry if perhaps I am not very clear in the questions, but from what little I had done to the university several years ago (and unfortunately not even had the opportunity to put into practice certain things), I had remained that graphic software served almost exclusively to draw, and programs like ansys had to carry out the calculations, having previously appropriately translated the object in question in a model of auctions, knots, etc... if now starting from zero (or almost) I could succeed "with a single barrel" to draw and design...!!!! thanks in advance

excuse but in the premium version there is no complete simulation already?

for question 1 I answer yes/no. I don't know how it works on a single beam, but for example on portals or welded frames (for example) you can apply force to the surface, knot, or the entire welding body. do the account that cmq xpress then limits itself to one body, while the full no.

if in the command manager click with the dx does not appear a series of boxes to "activate" with a check? I go to memory but the box you care about is "evaluate." then you find simulation (I always wash in memory).
