Hello people, I'm only approaching 3d printing now and I would like some advice on which materials to use to print mechanical parts.

I should make some details for a cam mechanism for a joystick and I wanted to print it first in 3d to see how it comes then from the real and if it works. I would need a material that allows me a good mounting ability once printed and also a certain resistance. on these pieces I will then have to mount bearings to sum up the functionality.

I tried to see on the internet but there is a tide of information and I struggle to understand that material is most indicated for my purposes.

based on your experience, which materials are most suitable for this type of realization?

Thank you!

I recommend petg, which offers you excellent printability. because for functional pieces it is usually recommended the aps, but it has remarkable problems of withdrawal and warping. if instead the first prototypes mold them only for an aesthetic and encumbrance speech you can use the platinum.
If you have any other questions, I'm here.

Hi.
Where are you?

hello stefer, thanks for the answer and information. I'm currently deciding on the purchase of a 3d printer and so I "seat" virtually on that post you've already answered... ;)

Bye!
