material problems

Good morning, I have a problem that I can't solve, every time I duppose a material to create a similar one, the changes that I supply to the new material are automatically made even in that of origin they have two different names, am I wrong? I hope it's not a revit2018 bug.

Bye. when duplichi a material, right-click on the name "duplica", you find in the new material the same properties - tab "look" of the previous one. this means that both materials have the same "resource" associated.

How can I do to overcome the problem? that is to create a new material starting from an existing one? Is there a way to duplicate without connecting the two materials?

simply duplichi the resource.
in the "looking" tab, on the top right you will find two icons ("replace this resource" and "duplicate the resource"); click on the second and change it as you want. you will see that the material from which you left will remain such and which without undergoing changes

and how do you automatically expose personal materials related to a project, i.e. with images rendering own, to give others?
I tried various accommodations (e.g.: in loading folders in the root of the basic drawing export) but then you have to recharge them manually anyway.... and it is a great break.... if then they are several. .

not having well understood how revit go to take the materials, I tried to enter them also in the source folders (creating the personal material folder):

c:\program files (x86)\common files\autodesk shared\materials\textures\personal materials

then posting to the end user the folder to be inserted in the same place. But nothing...

Maybe you have to save in some other way... .
