Can you view the stone material with the graphic style model "shading with edges"? or should I import a .pat file and apply a simple retino as a surface motif?

good the second.poi if you want you can check the flag "use rendering composition for shading" to have a "tonality" of color similar to the stone material you chose.

exact,because what you see in the materials for renderings refers to an image file,you also have,that the color is displayed only if you activate the shadows in the view.
