Guys, I have a problem in calculating the maximum advance to saturate the power of the column drill: It looks like I've got something wrong about the units, but I don't know where...
I attach the image of the calculations in the discussion. It is very important to carry out the report on the design of a flange production equipment employable on normal column drills. I thank in advance anyone who will intervene in my support.

you used first thing q= 0.5*a * 0.5 d my questo vale for 1 cutting edge. the helical tip has two cutting edges.
I put the process with the evaluation of the cutting speed that according to the material to be drilled and the type of tool can have a certain range. in your case you have to mount a carburo k30, otherwise normal hss burn to 800 input/min.

then there is to keep in mind the tearing coefficient of the material and finally evaluate the power as force * arm. put everything to system and get to, i.e. the advance/turn that turns out 0.02 mm / g.I'll work you out.
