hi, use solidworks simulation for a year and I can't fix the following problem: during mixing a set, the software tells me that I don't have enough memory to meshare a part (lamiera with a thickness of 5 mm) for which I opted for a finer mesh through mesh control so that I could appreciate the tensions due to the stinging moment. the suggestion of the software is to increase the size of the item. But since the objective of the analysis does not allow me to further increase the size, what is (if there is) the way of "recovering memory" and then, of cquale mmoria is spoken? .

p.s. work on windows xp sp3

Can you help me? thanks and soon

Hi, jerma.

Usually when this type of "alert" appears it indicates the insufficient physical memory (ram) installed on the machine.
cmq, in order to help you should post an image showing the "performances" panel of the task manager and if possible also of the cad model.

without knowing the hardware of your machine and the axieme to be submitted to fem analysis, I can tell you:

- evaluate if you can use "shell" elements, instead of tetrahedra, or mixed mesh;
- verify/port the virtual memory value to 4096mb.

Last, I remind you that it is enough to discuss the model with 3 elements on thickness x get reliable results.

Hi, swarzy.

Hello swarzy,

first of all thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I cannot send you the model for reasons of confidentiality to those who commissioned the analysis.
I still attach the task manager image.

I tried to bring virtual memory (max value) up to 5000 but without a particular improvement. the mesh with shell is a bit complex to apply to the model in the studio.

then I'll take you on developments. .

Hi, jerma.

In fact, the amount of ram memory is limited, if you use xp 32bit, you could add another 512mb ram to your machine (perhaps by removing the 512mb module with 1gb).....however, to optimize and reduce the number of elements, you could do an analysis with coarse mesh (part size 5mm or 2.5mm) and then, once you get the voltage results, go to apply only one mesh
or have you already provided with this approach?

Let me know!

Hi, swarzy.

Hello swarzy,

Thanks for the advice, I have already provided for a more dense mesh in the critical areas and I have circumvented the problem.
for the ram speech, I have already installed 4 mb (in system properties, but I see that only 2.5 mb are recognized, perhaps because of the absorption of the graphics card); You think there's something wrong with my car?

thanks again and open

xp does not see the 4 gb of ram.

Hello swarzy,

thanks again for the clarifications; the reading of what you proposed has suggested to me many ideas of reflection. . .
As for my machine, we are talking about a desktop fjitsu siemens esprimo p 5916, with motherboard fujitsu siemens model d2314-a2 / s26361-d2314-a2, the chipset is itel q965 and the am installed are two pc2-6400 (400mhz) 2 gb each (a samsung and a kingston). cpu is intel core two duo e6300 (1,86 ghz).
think that reading only 2.5 gb is an anomaly of my system/s.o. ?
the graphics card is a nvidia picture fx 1700 (addition for conclaimed compatibility with solidworks).
Can I proceed with the ability of the pae mode, or should I proceed with any other preventive control ?

thanks again and soon

Hi, jerma.

I recommend that you check if within the bios setting, it recognizes the 4gb installed on the machine.
if I don't remember badly is the f2 button to get into the bios.

Let me know!
