good morning, for personal culture and to learn a new thing came the advantage of importing a file from solidworks to hypermesh for the realization of the mesh only (possibly to import into another fem program) and I noticed that, while supporting the sw format, hypermesh gives error in importing and "grades" in .step file input or iges.

Is this the only way to go?
or somehow you can directly import the file part of solidworks?

thanks to all users and sympathizers :)

Hi.

I'm new, too, and I think you've found a lot of answers to the question.
I use hypermesh for about 3 years and my warm advice is to always export in step/iges format from any cad you find to use.
Good luck!
