mirror part with "connection"

hi to all use the 2017 version , wanted to know if it was possible to mirror a part maintaining a sort of connection with the original mirrored?
I explain better, I have a part to make the mirror I call a_mir, is it possible by making a change on the part to which they automatically find themselves in a_mir? I ask this because in the design phase I need to have the mirrored part for the study, but I am then forced to insert the new works that spring from the studio one to one on two pieces.

create the new part, with the "derive" command amounts the solid and/or other geometries on the side you want, then mirror this by selecting the "original helimin" option.
in this way if you make changes on the "primary" part they repercussion on the mirror, if instead add work to the mirror they remain only in the same.
