model manager o pdm

Good morning, it's the first time I approach the forum so forgive me the inaccuracies.
in the company where I worked alone and so far I saved in various bdl files various assemblies with the various pieces.
If I had to revise a piece I copied it from the original axieme and brought it back to the new set.
everything is commanded by a management where the distinct ones are perfectly formed.
Now we should become three and so I want to put some order.
Do you recommend using model manager or pdm?
what costs they have.
should stay in the pdm of ptc or turn to the various softer houses.
know some easy to use pdms and easy to install.

I personally believe that in the absence of pdm it would be more convenient to split the machine into macrogroups, for each of them to make a folder within which to save the pkg of all the assemblies and then the files.mi of the individual details, although with the bdl you have the advantage of having almost always the table tied to the 3d reference. with even greater confidence you could save 3d files in .sd format (which automatically puts you as the file name model) and individual tables.
As for the management of revisions, I believe that through the "versions" it is possible to do so even without pdm, but sincerely I have never tried.
Surely pdm does everything better, indeed customizing it a little can become a system also of production management, especially regarding the prototypes, but more than the cost in itself of the software I think it is honest the structuring of a database to which the pdm whatever it is; the old pdm of the cocreate was workmanager and if I don't remember badly it was necessary the model manager module to make it work, I think that however if you decide to purchase a pdm you should spend something extra and take a pdm more customizable for your needs, especially in case you are a small company with internal production.

model manager is a pdm. I use it and I find it very well, but consider that you will probably need assistance for customization.

as costs consider on 5-600 euro per user per model manager (one for each designer) and also for the editor of separate base (one for the whole office). the database is free if you use microsoft sqlexpress.

to work in three I think it is almost mandatory, with pkgs sooner or later combine disasters.
