Hello, everyone. I hope I'm in the right place.
I am carrying out a modal analysis of a 3d frame with deep foundations (diaphragms) about 30m. the structure (bridge) extends outland for about 6m. the diaphragms are continuous with the batteries and bound laterally by elastic springs.
my problem lies in the fact that modal analysis returns me many ways of vibrating which involve only the foundations (being present 16 diaphragms each oscillates independently. ..
if I decided to remove the diaphragms from the model (replaced with elastic springs at the base of the batteries) what problems would it entail?
Thank you.
