Good evening to all,
I wondered if it was possible to change the post-processors that they give with any cam program through some dedicated tool.

I'll explain.

For example, when I go to post-process any program in heidenhain language by popping up the "Utensile Compensation" function, in the post that I will then send into the machine, in the string of the tool call, the milled radius is not displayed.
I know it costs nothing to manually add the parameter to the machine board, but I would like as much as possible to perfect these errors in the post-procession phase also because the mother house of the cam I use is charged (justly) for any change.

I'll tell you how I do it.
we have powermill and hypermill, the post powermill format .opt open it with a simple notepad I see it as text file , inside I see the various commands : tool change, disks, etc... Here I go to add the commands that interest me, or a text.
hypermill cannot be done in the same way, but they give you the possibility to customize it within the working list in the postprocessor section, with a series of commands you can customize it from start to finish.

I have .dex and .def extensions but if I open them with a notepad I only see numbers and letters put at home.

Why do you have a tool that can change it.what cam do you use? Have you looked at the program installation?

use toptron e12, in the post I purchased (selca, heidenhain), there are .wpt, .dex, .dex for selca and .dex, .def for heidenahin and in addition there is a setup for post installation. Nothing else.

What's that setup for?
in powermill have a tool put in start/all programs that allows you to change it (a bit complicated).

the setup automatically installs the posts in the program.

Anyway, maybe I found it. even on the top of the control panel I found "compil a post in gpp", I see to unleash us a bit hoping, without harming. But I still can't understand what the gpp acronym means.

we with hypermill we have annual maintenance license, if I need to email the post with the requests for changes , they prepare everything and send it back to me without paying anything else.with toptron how it works?

that I should pay for any change, that is why, at least to change the cabbages, I would like to do it myself.
