hello to all

I need to copy some groups (not very complex, but formed by groups in turn grouped and then grouped again, in short: groups of groups) from one layer to another. after making the copy, select and from the radio layer palette, I move it into the target layer, but the subgroups inside remain in the previous layer. Is there a way to move only everything in the right layer, without having to enter every single object and move it manually? Because it's something that makes me waste a lot of time.

Thank you.

use winxp and 8 pro

Have you tried using the outliner palette (structure)? from there you can easily select all subgroups

Yes, it is, it is very convenient to select items.
Thanks for the tip, I think I'm gonna use this outliner for a while now.

Actually, it's not the ultimate solution to the problem, in the sense that in any way you have to select each item and move it.
I think you should leave everything on layer 0 and then move only the groups into the various target layers, as I was suggested in other forums.

in general all the "single" geometry must stand on the layer0, and if there are no good reasons to do otherwise, even all subgroups. should be put on specific layers only the group or component "outside".
