multiple instances with different parameters. tables and equations!

Here I am with another strange question to understand sw...
in one set I find myself having more instances of the same part (say 20) but I need 5 to have 100mm thickness, 4 to be 120mm high, 6 to be 2000mm long and 5 to be 1800mm long.
Of course, by changing the sketches quotas I easily get the change of the part, but not selectively, since the part is always the same.
I should save by name and give a different name to the parts, but it's Moroccan... Is there another way?

you have to create more configurations of the same part. go to the help under "configurations"

in the help is explained very well. go to "equations". to make quotas equal in a quick way within a part see the item "coll

and maybe make a repeat add an element when the part changes length).

I never needed it, but I don't think it's complicated by relationing length and parameters of repetition. even from the curved repeat you should get something like that.

Of course. you have to create a data table, go to the ele to the relative voice.

because of what it says, sometimes it happens to have type 30 same parts all different maybe for one parameter... exists a different way from configurations, which you have to add by hand (if you do it for 30 times in a project and then maybe you have to make changes to the flight... becomes long)?
like a sort of dialogue in which the variables of objects are listed and then change their value?

to make multiple configurations of the same part you only need the time you need to type in its cells:
1) name of individual configurations
2) Share values in individual configurations
3) exit the data table

The faster you write before you find ready configurations. :smile:

parametric systems are very comfortable and save a lot of time in the case of similar objects. Now we have to say that this control can be pushed far ahead and we can create configurators who make models and drawings, starting from a matrix, and inserting only some parameters.
this is convenient and fast to use, but not as comfortable and fast to do. to build a good matrix you need a lot of time and even more it takes to make it right to allow you to act on all the variables you want to retouch.

I've never used commercial configurators, and I know they cost a lot, I don't know if you fall into a case where it's worth thinking about the implementation of a configurator, I don't know anything about what you have to do.
