good Sunday to all
I have a problem with 3d study, but I begin to think it is not my mistake, but it is the program that is done so
If I extrude a cube in negative by selecting a face the face lowers, but laterally the faces of the object remain. Does this have a solution or is it the program that works like this?
Thank you.
I attach an image of the problem

I think it's the program that you do this.
The easiest way is to operate a bolean subtraction. Otherwise you have to break the points and bring them down to the same share of the extruded plan.

Of course it's just limited on something like that
In fact, the designer expects the vertical walls to fall to the level of the extruded plane, but evidently 3ds considers the surfaces of the solid (even the vertical ones) as if standing, and does not work the cancellation of the excess part.
But reflecting on it is good that you don't. not so automatic, at least, because if we had to make an extrusion of a small square placed in the center of any floor, we admit a square well placed on a horizontal plane, extruding it in negative the designer expects that 3ds max does not delete the faces that form the walls of the well.

In case you've predicted, he's forced to take a few extra steps.
autocad does worse. with command extruded in negative goes to build a second solid and leaves you both. So he also forced himself with autocad to do a bolean subtraction.
unless you open the command press and drag. in this case autocad is as if it forced the solid and removed it immediately.

thank you so much for the answer I think 3d studio is a very powerful modeler but on some things a bit slender thanks again
