Of course it changes because they do not have to be made through ribs because they are not!!!! but by emptying the material and faster and more immediate, they may seem like ribs but are not if the detail is analyzed:biggrin:

while the previous design is a straight section, then the rib remains behind.
I agree with rs4: that is not a rib but an integral part of the model.

you are right that according to the rules both ribs and bolts that trees generally etc are not to be dissected, I do as I described before with more body and then delete the section in rib,
