are very particular (ctrl+8?????!!!?? Do I almost get up from the chair? ).
I think I understand that the user solidworks or makes kilometers with the mouse or arranges to customize, and I find everything strange, it will also be the philosophy of the manufacturer, but you want to put the job done, and done well, and equal for all? Then you can repersonalize it anyway!
by inventor if I press "alt" opens a world, the mouse becomes a supreme.

set the keyboard commands as you want: a 50-key plus all variations with shift, ctrl, alt
with the mouse you have 12 quick movements for environment
graphic shortcuts are customizable

the template is very customizable and you can set many things. I make some examples that maybe is better.
you can make a template with already set material, set in pounds and pèollici for Anglophone customers
a template with the already set cut distinction, certain colors for each specific function, with quotas without decimals for heavy carpentry work
a template with axes, the file properties with already written the non-variable parts of a commit so that the user should only write the description and name
a sheet template
a template with inside already a body that represents the footprint in which the model must be built

if you do not have a routine job and change typology, customers, mattresses and what else can suit you also the default ones

I have practically never used axes, although from a purist point of view it would be correct to use them not to lean against more sensitive entities than modifications or deletions such as faces or abortions, but they are habits

open the new file, you create them, save with prtdot extension and you're fine
