standard 11337 on the bim: new parts 9 and 10
two new chapters to close the national regulatory system on digital buildings: building file and bim administrative practicesa little more than two years after its reopening (first norm 2004-2009) continues the work of the table uni to complete the new norm 11337 dal titolo: “digital management of building information processes”.
continue to increase public and private stakeholders, representatives of the whole chain (projects, companies, producers, contracting stations, lawyers, research institutes, universities, software houses, etc.), who ask to enter and participate actively in the work of the group, which, with its more than 70 components, is today one of the most active and participated tables of one.
in the collaborative spirit that is precisely of the bim the sector has found in one the natural place to confront and give itself those shared technical rules indispensable to guarantee transparency, free competition, dialogue with other markets and the competitiveness of the Italian market in the world. a test of maturity of the sector that, in one, compact work, in advance and autonomy from legislative impositions (which often seems more to blame it instead of favoring its development), in the interest of the operators, the clients (public and private), the quality of the products and the satisfaction of the user.

state of artat the beginning of 2017 were published the first 4 new parts of the norm, indispensable to the field to give themselves those basic rules, national ones, that allowed him to operate independently from the only foreign references until then present (essentially pas 1192:2 - uk - and bimforum - use). references never translated into organic texts and often misinterpreted. important references (pas and bimforum) that, instead, find congruent evolution and application to the national section in the Italian norm.
thanks also to the great work of research and development produced by the project innovance (2011-2014), real phenomenon of research and diffusion in the territory of the bim, the norm has collected and structured in 4 new organic texts, almost 300 pages, the maturity acquired until then from the field. at the beginning of 2017 the parts were published: 1, 4, 5 and 6 of the new regulatory system that went to add to the existing part 3 (the only remaining part still in force of the old plant of 2009, where 4 years before the pas introduced the bim in a national normative text).

new parts 2 and 3one of the problems still unresolved in the bim is represented by the relationship between information relating to “elements” because of the different models or elaborates in which they are treated. their connection is today entrusted to coding and classification systems born before the bim (omniclass, uniformat, masterformat, uniclass, etc.). poorly performing systems, used in some markets but not in others (and therefore not interoperable), but above all not re-elaborable by the machine as substantially indifferent to the attributes that identify, connote and characterize the “elements” themselves. the need to define the levels of informational development of the non geometric attributes (loi), of part 3, with the contribution of the computer of the table (acade, harpaceas, autodesk, nemetschek, graphisoft, etc.) and of the public administration (region lombardia, itaca, mit), is today defining an approach to the problem of semantic nature and no more coding, which allows to overcome. this allows the machine to connect the objects according to their attributes, regardless of the code used, verifying the information congruence independently and indifferently from the discipline, topic or vehicle in question (model or processed; drawing, computation, capitulation, relationship, etc.).

new parts 7 and 8is now in the direction of arrival also the part 7 the norm dedicated to the definition of roles, tasks and authorities of the new figures “bim”. manager, coordinator and information modeler. the value of the Italian norm that to clearly define the spheres and the management and operational limits of the different figures as well as to solve the various ambiguities that still exist in the international sphere. company or contract roles first.

This is why the definition of the bim application guidelines to industry processes (part 8 of the norm) will take place through an innovative formula of discussion, made of tables also open to non-members, in order to collect directly from operators and their experiences on the field (positive and negative that they are) every contribution, comment or criticism necessary.
