operator panel height

Good morning.

I did not find references so I create a discussion.
operator panels (volgarmente touch panels and buttons) seen in front, to what height should they be from the ground? I knew for "feel" 1.6m from the ground the center of the panel, but are there regulations of references about it?

uni en iso 14738 could help you
en 60204-1, § 10
actuators of hand operated control devices must be selected and installed so that:
– they are at a height not less than 0.6 m above the service plan and are easily accessible by the operator when it is in its normal working position;

1.6 meters is high, it is not comfortable.
for a high 1.6 meters is anti ergonomic
at 1.6 usually puts the phonometer just to simulate the ear height!

the machine directive does not provide quotas!
