Hello everyone,
I have a question to ask you.
In the pack and go of inventor 2024 there is the possibility to copy both part and axiemi files, and linked files (type dwg and/or excel files) but in this operation there is no possibility to rename the part and/or axiemi files.
the need arises for this reason:
I made a model that generates a handrail for a ramp, so if I have three ramps I will have to make a pack and go for three times, obviously adjusting some measures to fit it to the ramp. It is obvious that I cover them on three different folders but in this way the numbering of the assigned part is duplicated for all ramps. so I find a part with the same name but that have different lengths. it would be preferable to have a unique part name which then corresponds to the "number part" within the file.
to overcome this for the moment I found only two roads:
1 - change the "number part" within the part, but generating confusion and not matching between the file name and the number part;
2 - or by hand changing the name of the file and when you open the inventor axieme by not finding the file you will ask which is the corresponding one.
premetto that the handrail is made from 5 or 6 parts per section (sticks at folded tubular), and on a ramp there are 3 sections therefore it means to manage at least 18 rows per ramp.
I ask you if there is a better way to proceed perhaps even with a plug in. I wonder why there's no such possibility in the ang go pack window.
or is there an ilogic that once started overwrites the name from the file part like the one written within the name part of the file? I have an ilogic on the contrary (part number equal to the file name). I think this solution is a little unlikely as the script should intervene outside of inventor in ambiante windows... but nothing is impossible:)
thanks in advance to all of you

the term pack&go:
"use pack and go to gather a file and all its reference files in one location.

pack and go allows you to combine a file of autodesk inventor and all its reference files, placing them in one position. Moreover, all files that refer to the inventor autodesk file in a selected project or folder can be included in the package.

the pack and go tool allows you to store a file structure, copy a full file group keeping links to the reference files and isolate a file group to perform project experiments.

you can start pack and go from explore windows resources or from a design assistant session started outside of autodesk inventor"
for what you want to do take a look at this discussion:

peppe thank you very much, I tried to search in the forum but without positive outcome. the copy inside the assemblies I never calculated it. Now it is clear to me also design assistant where more than once I tried to perform a copying operation and rename the files but I couldn’t understand all the steps to do to complete the operation so as to have the result I wanted.
thanks again to the suggestion
