parameterize an array

Greetings to all the forums.
I'm trying to help a colleague in defining a family in revit.
wanting to build uj suspension system for a suspended ceiling hanging on a tilted roof, we built the element parameterizing the height with the function h= l*tan(angle) where h is the length of the pull and angle represents the inclination of the roof to which the puller is hooked.
l represents the horizontal distance between one tie and the other.
the problem arises when we try to make an array of the above object. the array duplicates the object and cares about the relationships set by building the tiranti ( nested families) all of the same length.

Where's the mistake? ? Tristan if you're banging a hit (thank you!)

no, the distance is constant but the point is that doing the array always remains of the same value and therefore the length of the tie does not change. and unfortunately it is correct that it is so.
We're trying with the adaptors. . .

In fact it is not very clear how you have realized the family "final". a couple of screenshots would be useful

It's true, I apologize to everyone.
in any case, while having solved differently (with the adaptors), I explain better:
- we had the need to create a "tirant" object intended for suspension of countertop to a tilted roof: therefore the length of the rods is determined by the distance of the same from the origin 0.0 and assumes the value of l+(l*tan(a)) where to is the angle of tilt of the roof.
created the object we thought it was possible to make an array of the same but actually the l does not change (we should refer the l to an external coordinate system) because of the object itself.
after some reflection we realized that it was not possible with this method and we solved differently.
thanks anyway to everyone.

an image would always be of great help, or the family. and hard to say anything without seeing anything. :
