parameters of the mounts

I'm going to be mad!
I would need to customize the wall mounted, but when I try to edit the family to add parameters I can't select anything in the editing table, everything turns out gray and not editable.
Specifically I would need to be able to vary the length of horizontal mounts (which by default is aligned to the vertical partition of the glasses) and to add different finishing types.

Is this possible?

Usually this happens if the family is very old (I mean made with obsolete version). if it is not too complicated to remake

I'm afraid I didn't understand.
to create a mount I load a 2d profile in the mountaineer's family and can't add parameters (even when creating the family) that allow me to manage the length of the frame itself, regardless of the window partition grid.
Is there another way to create wall mounts?
I thought I'd use a family of beams. What do you think?

add/remove segments I can't use it because it would also remove the mount under the current point of division and the 'unisci' tool does not make me use it.

there would then be a next step once I have my cross united: I would like to insert elements that represent me holes every 300 mm from the axis of each traverse (the beams will have variable length ). Is that possible?

I don't think they can join, but why do you want to join them?

Can you use dynamo?

to try to circumvent these problems (long transverse length + hole introduction) I thought I would use beams instead of beams+ a continuous facade constituted only but vertical pillars and glazed panels.
What do you say?

I try to say mine. If you don't have a consistent change in the size of the panels (so you don't have to make an exaggerated number of types), you might think you can shape the traverse inside the panel family, then proceed with a continuous facade that only has vertical panels and frames, I think it might work.

actually the size of the panels always varies.
I think I will proceed using for horizontal beams.
