hi to all.as you see from the picture the mechanical arm is formed by three under beams that can rotate through those engines and then unline between them.I would like to check the relative quota to the three corners because then I should study the behavior of the arm in ansys and then vary the angles so to have different configurations.how do I call the quota?

If you have to solve a problem with reverse cinematics, I can't help you. If you just need to be able to insert the angle for each wrist, see if the attached example can help you (open the "equations" folder in the model tree).

I have solidworks 2008.can you save it in a previous version?
You can't.
you wrote that you want to control the odds and "denominate them" but it is not clear if:
1) Do you want to change his name from the default name?
2) Do you want to bind them to each other from relationships?
3) Do you simply want to have different position configurations?

then:
1) click on the quota then in the property manager replace in the field "primary value" that will be of the type d1@schizzo1 the name you prefer (pippo@schizzo1). If then when you want to see in addition to the values also the quota names, you must put the flag in the options on the specific item.
2) you can make equations that bind values between them. see the help.
3) create as many configurations as the positions you need and for each configuration change the odds values accordingly. also here you help that is well done.

If you needed anything else, then try to be more circumstantial in describing what you need.

hi luigi, it is as you were told. enter excel data table or with the internal table (but it is uncomfortable), you make your n editable configurations, addable etc. insert the 3 angle odds and then you can also tie them with mathematical relationships or simply randomly shoot. solve reverse cinematics and then use as x and y input and this position you moving the 3 engines...you can do so....everything.
