Good morning to all,
between a few months, in the company for which I work, is in preview the passage from nx8.5 to nx12 .
I have already been documented but compared to a "single" release jump, here are expected major changes.
premetto that we use nx for modeling, assembling and designing more or less complex mechanical components and we have integration with plm teamcenter.
someone who has already traveled this version change and who uses nx12 would want to leave me some suggestions and advice to make the passage less traumatic?
In the company I assume that they will be set up refresher courses but I don't think they will give us better advice than I could find here.

I thank you in advance for any suggestions, advice, tricks etc.

Good job!

Hi.
It is difficult to answer this question. There is a remarkable leap between the two versions, from the interface to the drafting and so on.
I'll take care of myself also training in the company where I work, we usually do migration every two releases, so when I prepare refresher courses the first thing I do, and that's what I recommend to you, it's to get me the whats new of the various versions.
Good luck.... :-)

Thank you. _ ,
Unfortunately here are years that postpone the update and to every problem we find they answer us "with the 12 it is resolved", "the 12 can do it" etc... Hopefully it's the good time!
considering the difference between one version and the other (8.5-->12) the course should last 2 weeks! :
Meanwhile I will try to see all whats new (9-10-11-12). o
Too bad that in the company video playback is blocked.

Is there any bugs that it is better to know in advance not to pop into remarkable breaks of boxes?

Thanks and good work!

Since you tell me that in a few months you'll take the nx12, I'll tell you right away that it's an unintelligent passage. in a few months the new version will come out, which will be called nx (nx cr=continuous release), where with tc 11.4, from there forward you will not have to do more steps aligned between nx and tc and nx will update automatically, having always nx patched and implemented.

Unfortunately, being a big company, where each update has a very significant impact, the update logic does not follow those that could have a private or a small company.
here is all customised, especially teamcenter.
Moreover for security it is never recommended to use the latest version of a software just released for obvious stability issues and probable bugs.
thank you anyway of the council, I will ask our manager siemens what you know about this nx cr.

Good job.

we are a big company. I repeat, it's a not smart choice. we are at 11 and we had to choose if to go to 12 last year. I said wait another year because nx would make an important change of course.
