Have any of you ever used the patran to simulate a rotor? i.e. critical speed calculation, bell diagram and more?
Are there any tutorials around?

you better get a msc course or from who it is, as to pull out the colors it is also easy and a manual could suffice, actually the problem is complex and you need to know:
1-ababstance of theory
2-maturity on the fea
3-identifying specifically how to solve the problem of rotor.dinamica in abse to the needs.
