I believe that ghery refers to the server side workspace (old commonspace intralink).
just for clarity:
when you save the object: goes into the client side workspace (you only see it)
when you load: it goes into the server side workspace (they also see others who have access to those workspaces)
when you do the chec-in:va in the shared folder of the product (they see all those who have access)
to export a server side workspace, dak browser pro/e you have the tool menu as image.
open and click export from workspace, it will ask you a directory on file system and whether to export in basic or advanced mode.

Sorry though thinking about it well the bakup is not good, because in a workspace it can be that there are components that do not center anything between them, the export from workspace guarantees you copying on file systems of all content, the backup only of the components included in the axieme top level, so it is not exactly the same thing.

for how I try to work, in every workspace, there are always and only files related to the current project. effectively the "export from workspace" (especially in advanced mode), guarantees excellent control of the content of the same! :redface:
