plm document--management versions

I don’t know if any of you use document, where I work they bought it and we started doing the first hours of course, and it emerged that the program does not manage the versions of 2d/3d files but only revisions. I ask why I go out of the vault of auotodesk that managed the versions of the files and therefore when you checked in you did not miss the work done in the previous time, in the sense that when you wanted you could load the version/s past. This fact I see it a bit as a problem, in the sense that there is no freedom of design that allows to design in tranquility in the phase of the svuluppo, then it is clear that when the project is defined we no longer care about the old versions, but in the phase of development of the modeling could arise the need to resume a past study. How do you manage this need to return to a past version, without going through the revision, which we know so many times precludes benetari and/or turn signatures?

if you use document and you have set up a study coding you can do all the prototypes you want with numbering to please and then track the final one and rename it. In this way you have the history of everything. we have done so

Look, we were talking about it today. the only way is to go to the work and in the old version folder see if you have something there too. but I see it counterproductive to do as you say for each file. fills the server in no time. Perhaps the optimal solution is to do as it says sergiogrest and then once you define everything eliminate what you don't need.

hello sorry does not have much to do with what you wrote above.... would I just want to know if there is a way to recover a deleted file in the 2018 version of document?
