Good morning.
I use a .arx program on autocad mechanical 2009 on windows xp 32 bit, I wanted to install it on a new computer with windows 7 64 bit, but despite all the right settings always tells me "arxload failed". . .
I'm afraid it's an incompatibility problem. . . .
Can someone give me some advice to solve the problem?
Thank you in advance, bye.

I see it hard for someone to help you, if not the one who compiled the ax in question. Have you tried to contact the author yet?

Yeah, but I haven't heard from him for years, and I think he retired to private life... but there is no way to "convert" this arx?

the only way is to have the source code and recompil it for use on a 64bit machine.

what you could do to put a piece to everything is to try to create a "virtual machine" on your win7-64bit with, for example, "oracle vm virualbox"
created virtual machines are always 32bit. reinstall autocad mechanical and try to load your arx.

but if you place the .arx file someone can rewrite it for 64 bits?
I wonder why I don't know about programming. . . .

no, you must have the so-called "source code" that is the file in programming language (vb .net, c+, c# etc.).
You should ask the programmer or, alternatively, make it rewrite by another programmer.
