I did not find a suitable section to introduce myself so I do so briefly and then expose my problem. I am a student of the first year of architecture and I never used autocad xd I would have a problem.. I have to copy a planimetry that has a quotation of 30 feet. I climbed the image but I think I did it wrong because as soon as I memorize the garage wall it comes to me 855 and it seems a little strange xd.. that it is so great.. and then I don't know how to copy it actually.. I don't think you can go like that at home, making polylines. Thank you very much :)

application n°1
by image do you mean a jpeg or similar inserted inside the file?
question n°2
855 what? Meters?

consideration n°1
if you stop an ipeg or simiile image you have no precise reference points to attach to; 30 feet are the equivalent of 914 cm, just a little to be 855. especially according to how great the image is and what resolution it has.
consideration n°2
set the alternative unit in the double share so you can see both the value in inches and that in meters/centimeters/millimeters and facilitate your life.
consideration n°3
always draws in real scale, then you will manage the layout windows to make the view scales

possible solution not knowing much since your explanation has more mysteries than a bet of twin peaks:
insert image
-quote what must be the length of 30 feet (obviously with double value in the altitude); this is the quota 1
- from the same point of the other you make a quota of 30 feet; this is quota 2
- scale the image taking as origin the common point of the two quotas, as first reference the quota 1 and as according to quota 2

probably some steps I told you you don't know how to do them (scale with reference, alternative quota...) in that case I recommend you do at least the basic tutorials of the program and consult the guide

image raster o.o do not believe there are other ''importable' images, I think it is png. However, the problem is that I don't know what 855 is, it doesn't say autocad.. I suppose they are cm since the scaling I made it in 914,4 ''cm' (between quotes because I did not put anywhere the measure).. I don't know how to do it, I saw tutorials etc. but the scaling always comes out like this, with cars measuring 544 cm.. which is not very normal..thanks anyway. .

autocad will never tell you what I am... You're the one who has to say it!
for him are 855 "unit", then you should tell him that they are mm, or cm, inches, alluci or furlong so you have consistent data if you ask him for analysis.
command _ddunits, if you need
for the rest, I agree with the good boulders
However, take into account the risk of making madoral errors "recalculating" an image

Thank you :) I finally understood. .
It is really imprecise, but the proff wants it like this: (maybe it's just an exercise to make us take our hand. just a little thing..know where can I find sections/prospects of house geller ii of marcel breuer? I looked everywhere: libraries, libraries..internet but apart from two photos of poor quality and a small planimetry I find nothing. Maybe I looked in the wrong places.. do you know any site about this? Thanks :)

I believe that schools should be included as a subject of study use of search engineslook with three words.. .https://www.google.it/#q=dwg+marcel+breuer
Let's say that the first time you responded sourly I let myself run because in fact not knowing anything or almost autocad I didn't have the means to spiwgarmi correctly and exhaustively but now really enough.. what do you think, that I haven't tried yet? read well what I wrote. There's nothing other than those three things I've already found. I didn't want anyone looking for me. I just hoped that some more experienced users of me would know some well-stocked sites of images on which to repeat the search...if you find yourself answering someone who has less experience than you do not do it :) I do not like your attitude. I didn't ask you to make me a project.

ps. I have already used several combinations of unsuccessful words and on multiple browsers.I am not that type of student who vules the ready parrot.. and especially don't tell me that I don't know how to look when even in your results there is something. .

incorrect courier and mea culpa.
I had escaped the specification of the house and so I, presumably, did generic research.

I apologize to domadraghi
