Hello, everyone. are at the first weapons with the 3d but I managed to build this folding trolley with rhino 3d. the problem is that I can't create the solid completely closed with the holes as seen in the attached project. I can close all the surface with the comendo close but then I can't open the holes. of course I suffer from inexperience. Can anyone help me?

I can't load the file, however you go to boolean subtraction and in case you remake the round holes

That's exactly the result I'm looking for. I got busy last night, and I made it all up. I joined the lines and extruded everything with extrudiscrv. then I closed the design and created the solid. created the holes and with the Boolean command I created long central holes. It didn't hurt. I always have a problem closing the lines.

the problem is the starting lines.

a thousand overlapping lines and various and possible cases.

You have to be careful and prepare for good the 2d before you want to extrude.

In fact. But I'm learning fast. I solved all the problems for now. I went ahead and I'm designing the various elements of media union, type bushings, nottons, bolts, threads. I'm starting to understand. Thanks

If you're in the first place, you don't feel bad, congratulations.

from what I see, however, I have to say that rhino is not the most suitable software.

with a parametric you would have considerable advantages, especially in phase of tuning/modification.

Thank you. I've made a lot of progress from that first project. I now design any element I need and have in my head. I work a lot with polysuperfici and now I apply materials, I make rendering. I'm at 50% of the project I have in my head and with rhino I feel good. You seem to have a lot of experience, what software would you recommend? I recently started looking around other platforms but at the moment I learned pretty well rhino so I stay here since I can design quickly and with excellent results what I need. like this 4.webp blocco gambe alluminio2.webp

I confirm, for that type of work with a parametric cad type solidworks, solidedge, inventor, creo etc you would go better.
first of all if you want to change anything, such as the location of a hole, the length of a socket, a size, you don't have to remake everything almost starting from head. change the feature that interests you by changing the sketch, quota or parameter and you're fine. being parametric the rest follows everything adapting to the new modification, if it was linked to this entity.
also in rhino you have no tools to create constructive drawings, technical documentation etc.

rhino is a good product if you need to model surfaces, simple to use and also leaves a good margin of "errors/imperfections".
but it stops there.
Everything is about what you have to work on. If you make jewelry, shoemaker and rendering ok, if not in my opinion it is too limited.

solidworks I had already looked at him fast. is very complete and I like the fact that it has the solidworks simulator packages and the technical communication part and electrical design. I'm going to try to try to try my step, see how it goes, the software is pretty heavy and I don't have a decent workstation, but only a laptop.

in this case I know also evaluating solidedge and inventors that is autodesk. They're all very good software, I don't know what to do with me.

after a short evaluation my platforms do not fully support solidworks. I'll fill up on inventor

I am going to inventor from solidworks at this time, the company where I work now has this.
the first impression is that it is less than solidworks, surely it is less practical and more slender.

Unless you invent on a 64-bit platform at the moment the idea is to try inventor. so to look at it seems very complete solidworks and I would have wanted to try it but a 64 bit i5 pc I only have it at work and I can't sure use it for these purposes. Of course downloading a trial version of inventor is fearful. I would have the possibility to have 3dstudio max complete version 2013. Maybe I try this first.
