hello to everyone, I take advantage of it to introduce myself and greet you.
I am here to post the following problem; a colleague of mine must perform an analysis f.e.m. in ansys importing custom-made and built models by defining surfaces on which ansys will then be defined shell elements to which to attribute the thickness. being ardua enterprise modeling in ansys, it is suggested to pass first to a modeler and save later in iges. The problem is that my colleague does not know solidworks and does not have time to learn it being a very short-term commitment. I therefore ask you the following: having a lot of experience in autocad 3d I saw that the model I could build it quickly defining the superfice through the sweep commands, revsurf in autocad 3d. saving in dwg or dxf and importing the 3d model composed of only solidworks surfaces... what happens? solidworks recognizes me the individual entities as surfaces ' go crazy?

importing dwg and dxf in swx is not the maximum, it is not guaranteed that you succeed. fewer steps do and the better it is.

thanks to all for the advice.

I don't know if you export me to sats, I verify.
you are right, it will be better next time to learn sw immediately, but in this case it is an emergency. .
