in the company we are considering to take some laptops to go to customers and develop studies at their home, currently we are stopped at the wf3 m230 and travels on hp pcs to 32bit and it is ok. for laptops it is thought to take the sist.operative with wseven business in anticipation to change in creo at the end of 2012. my question is you can install this version knowing that wseven has the possibility to start in the "32-bit xp professional" mode?

You say they're not compatible? on what basis is the answer?

taking a look at the microsoft site there is an application called " xp mode" , from what they say this application from the possibility to create a 32 0 64 bit virtual machine on a win7 system, so I create a pc in everything and for everything with the so xp professional, where the wf3 runs smoothly.

Finally checking on the ptc site also give the wf3 version for xp 64bit always for xp professional .

other solution could be that being in maintenance from ptc on these notebooks you might think to install the wf5 that on win7 should not give problems, the drying is that the wf5 files are not read by wf3 and intalink 3.4.

I said the one based on ptc.
there is no support for wf3 installed on windows 7.
so if the user works, so well, otherwise if you encounter problems there will be nothing to do.
windows 7 is supported starting from wf4 m120.

hello bologna1, freefx told you correctly the situation.
the compatibility of pro/e on seven is guaranteed by ptc from the wf4 m120 onwards.
more than using xp emulation or virtual machines (which slow down the system a lot) you should install xp on the dual boot machine.
In this way you will have no problems whatsoever.
when you need to use pro/e you will leave with xp instead of seven.

thank you for the kind answers given.
by making a quick count we will try to work with the wf5 doing only new things and we will not pour them into the pdm.
with the config can we take advantage of the wf3 for the wf5?

greetings

You can use it again.
but some options in wf5 are new options and some of them in wf3 are no longer valid in wf5.

thanks for the answers given. as already anticipated by freexf and max to date I managed to install the 64-bit wf5 on seven, and some options are to remake but not bad.

Since the property in this climate of recession does not want to spend money in vain before taking 7/8 laptops of a certain lever we are doing a test on a test laptop. for now I would say that the price ratio performance is not evil then in the long term I can not say if we go towards inconvenience.
I list some features of the noteboock currently under review, to receive comments
toshiba satellite pro l770-11f
i5-2410m 2.30ghz
4 gb of memory
envy card gt 525m

€ 800 approximately

Hi.
many portals mount on board graphics cards not certified by ptc but equally performing in this discussion find a tool to verify its goodness:http://www.cad3d.it/forum1/showthread.php?t=9987&highlight=scheda+graficaAlso always on this forum was a file excel where all users based on their experiences included the data of the graphics cards, I know, and type of pc if I do not erro .... but I do not find it
:redface:

on creo elements/pro integration is maximum with full support to the new seven graphic toolkit, on wf4 appearance left to want.

today while installing the aids in a ford workshop I remembered that just launch the executable in compatibility mode with windows xp and the application will work, or better, will have a high probability of working properly.
for AIDS that didn't normally start there were no problems, plus you avoid virtual machines or pallose reinstallations to partition.

Good morning
I have to buy a laptop to run some 3d drawing programs, including proe wf2;
Unfortunately, we know that it is certified only for winxp 32bit.

I thought I would mount 2 disks on the new machine, so I had 2 separate operating systems: on the first I would put win7 64bit, on the second winxp 32bit;
on the first I would turn inventor 2013, while on the second right proe wf2.

for this I ask you, is it a valid solution? or recommend 1 disk only and use wf2 proe with xpmode?
