Good morning to all,
I tried to find but I didn't find an answer.

I have a problem about something as trivial as duplicate a projectI'll explain.
I have a folder in a directory where I have all a complete project in catia 3d, 2d etc. now I need to create a new project copy of that but independent, so that I can edit it without changing the original one.

I tried copying the folder (from the server) and putting it in "local", I tried to zip the folder and then open the zip in another directory etc, but every time I open the product inside the new folder created, I see that all the details are pointed in the source directory.

is there a system to duplicate a whole project correctly without it continuing to focus on that origin though changing directories etc?
p.s. I can't open the project and do "save by name" of the main product and then "propaga directory" as the various .catparts are subdivided into sub folders, and being hundreds I can't put to direct them one by one in the new folders.
Thank you very much

use rescue management and save the main catproduct first in the new folder.
Afterwards with the command automatically propagates everything else.

Maybe it also uses the option for a prefix or suffix.

This way works to copy a product and its part in a specific folder, but does not maintain the sub folder structure

and then set up maintains structure
Great, it seems to be what I was looking for! I have tried with a small product of 4 pieces made of test, now I try with a real project, so I see if it keeps the constraints, the various parameters, publications etc. :)

p.s. but in case you want to rename also the various part, example: in the initial folder the details have all a prefix es "cad3d-part1" "cad3d-part2" etc, with this command (or another) there is also the possibility to say "the details must no longer have the prefix cad3d but cad4d" ? having so all a project with "cad
Thank you.

it is possible... not automatically, but singorarmente.. And I don't think that makes you happy.

once copied as mentioned by victorious uses rescue management and saved in the same folder but apply the prefix or suffix that you define on the bottom left

But falonef. you can only put a prefix before or after the original name of the file, a catpart that is called "cad3d" you can't make it "cad4d" if there was a chance you would like me too.

Hi.
I use the command "new from".
starting from the main set is quite simple the window of catheia and very intuitive.
starting from .catdrawing , it takes a bit of patience, because you have to view the catprodut generated by the "new" with the command "modification/links (pointed documents)/open

Yes, but you lose the directory structure and always remains the name to change.. and perhaps, but I'm not sure, does not associate the table with the new associated catpart

.. lose directory structure.
hi vittorio maybe I didn't understand this passage well

I use this procedure when I need to reuse a project of an old multi cavity mold for a similar product (packaging molds also with 125 different parts and 2000 total parts)

while I assure you the connection between 2d-3d also together remains and works smoothly,
for the problem of the name you have to carry a little patience but also that you can manage
and then just be careful when you run rescue at the end; There are some applications around to solve this jam too but they cost:( .

definitely works your system, but I never used it
when I have to make a new mold, similar to the previous one, I use "send to " explained to the #3 and #4 because this system allows me to keep the structure of any under directories, and not only... also passes any excel files used in the project.
I the name of catparts never change it, mobile matrix will always be mobile matrix and fixed matrix will always be fixed matrix even if the n° of the mold changes.
all, of course, is placed in another directory with the new name of the mold/client.
what will change will then be the table where there will be different codes in the cartilage.

thanks to the explanation
I use my main system to recover 2d boards when projects are very similar, I will try yours if I have occasion
