Hello everyone
I would like to know how to do with solidworks to project the geometries of a solid face in 2d
this job I usually do it with solid designer but should learn with solidworks

create a sketch on the desired plane/face, select the geometry you want to project then use the "convert entity" command. see the help for details.. .

explain to me what's complicated about what I wrote:"use the command "convert entities". see thehelp per i dettagli..."have you gone to consult the help where everything is explained "to vegetable test"?

Maybe it's the case that you put the file and see... you have to get a development? I don't know what you mean by projections of an object 3d.

I need to get the shape of the sheet to be cut to the pantograph
I have to get a dxf or dwg
the problem and that I have never used a 3d I have always used autocad 2d because until recently I passed the paper drawings and the dxf and from the dxf I make copy of the silhouette that I need and the neck on a dwg created by me x change the shape as I need,type widening holes where pass tubes or string shapes x leave overmetal where it serves processing

I tried to follow the tutorial and also use the search

I started as well as you, I learned to draw in 2d, but then when the job became more challenging we had to update
buying a 3d, in the case solidworks (which I learned at night... )
the advice I give you is to forget autocad and try to learn by degrees.
the sheet is a field not really simple with 3d, but once you understand the basics you will open a world.
in addition to doing the tutorials present in solidwork, look for movies about youtube. I also have a channel with some videos, nothing but some things are useful for novices.
if you look on the main page of the forum solidworks you will notice a tread "stikato" which is called "useful resources..." where you will find, precisely, links and important suggestions.
also the use of the "search" function, here in the forum, can help you, in fact many
themes have already been treated thoroughly.
