I wanted to ask a question: to work in the field of sheet metal what is the best program to use? I use solidworks for the moment. .
Thanks soon, Marco.

hi marco and thanks for your answer like those of other users. . ...but,
if you have and already know solidworks you still use that. the sheet part seems well treated, at least I do everything and in 2010 there are further improvements and more "flexibility"/freedom. learned the method and with minimal experience developments of everything with precision. always that you just bend and bolt, if you make fun or various plastic deformations you need other third-party applications.
then there are specific programs only for sheet metal but I don't know about it.

Hi. (another homonymous:smilehi marco and thanks for your answer like those of other users. . .
above all you rotten that you have the 2010 version of solidworks would you explain better than what news are treated on the sheet? and also how do I make the rolling on solidworks? How do I develop it? Imagine making a cone trunk, how do I draw it? even if I start from solid then empty it, how do I make it become sheet metal and explain it to be able to laser cut it? for now I do it with mathematical formulas then drawing in 2d but I wanted to do everything with solidworks.. .
thanks for the answers and attention of your and other users.
See you soon, Marco.

...View attachment TRONCO CONO Loft.rar...I thank you very much. Now I look at the file you posted to me then I tell you... However, I must have missed a passage because the theory I knew all about it! I had realized several "connects" between profiles starting from round to arrive squares.. .Hi. (another homonymous:smile
I have not installed it yet in 2010 and I am continuing with 2009; we are changing workstations and expect to have everything new and "vergine".
and I see that you, while swx doesn't seem to have enough mastery.
what you ask is just the "minimum" things that the software can do. if you consult the online guide and do the simple step-by-step tutorials solve in a moment, faster than not post the questions and wait for the answers
Anyway. .
the grilling is nothing but a bend with wide radius and k=0.5 (..certo than to draw them in 2d....), and simply parts from a sketch with the profile of your "curvatura" and extrude it with the feature of sheet metal linguetta flangia on base assigning the thickness you want, then he does everything and you have the nice and ready to develop part.
for the forms of "simil revolution" as a cone trunk (and has already been said hundreds of times, and is similar to all softwares.. use the search function of the forum and consult the previous topics..) we proceed as in reality with the sheet of sheet in hand which is then welded along the line/generator of junction; then you will have to create a conical tube that is open. if solid parts before turning it into sheet metal you will cut (just a fraction of mm slot) along the generator, or directly with a sheet loft between two sketches of open circles:View attachment 13933View attachment 13934...View attachment 13935...
These are just the basics, then pull out a little all the forms you want.
I'll tell you, anyway.
consult the help, do the tutorials and try to search back in the forum the topics discussed several times.
greetings
