Hi.

I made an offset of the edges of a solid face (after creating a sketch) I assigned the odds to the sides.

I wanted to understand if it was possible to insert with some control of inventor the share of the offset, the 5 shown in figure below and that I took from the manual of the exercise.
I solved by drawing a line between the offset and the original edge and then pulling a share of the same (I then transformed the line in line of construction).
but was there a "automatic" way to do it or was it necessary to resort to my procedure?

When you do a sketch on an existing face, the edges are highlighted in green, to indicate that they are "projected" i.e. made valid in the current sketch, if that's not happening, probably the option is unchecked.
go into tools->options application-> disk and the voice "auto projection edges for the creation and modification of the sketch".
or you can, always in sketch, use the command "project geometry" to project the edges you need for quotation.
you can at this point put the quota between an existing edge and an offset side.... .

But one thing, the "quota" command still sees the edges even if they are not already projected, so I don't understand where you find it difficult to share normally. . .
