quotation cylindrical cam

Hello everyone,
I have a big problem to solve. I have to make the quotation of a cylindrical cam (made in pom) and I do not know how to move in order to be able to clearly quote the profile of the cam made on the cylindrical surface. in this quarry will have to engage a pin of 4 mm of diameter.
the quarry follows a simple helical profile. I would need to quote where the quarry begins, the thickness, and its development on the cylinder.
How can I do that? I am in your hands.

you have to draw the profile development by doing it on the plan of the drawing sheet 2d, then you will quota it by putting in x the degrees of rotation, and in y the lift. or give the miller the step, you work less and he is more pleased.

I never had a component like that. Unfortunately, I have to make a table. Can I ask you a sketch of what you say? At least as the profile design should be set, it is not very clear to me. I understand the meaning, but I can't understand how to define it on the table.
