"recover" a trunk-trapeze (create the jacket the mason)

hi, I try to explain better what I try to do but I do not know where to start or what technique to apply.

the base of departure is this omino of "lego"

http://www.3dcontentcentral.it/secure/download-model.aspx?catalogid=171&id=171118to which I want to add a removable "work jacket" similar to what you see in this image

I should therefore "recover" or rather "recalcare" the shape of the omino lego trunk to have the base, apply a thickness for the orange part, then again mark the strips for the white parts. . .

I can't guess how I can start, and recalculate the shape all around the trunk... could be enough for an offset, but applied as??? or a sweep of 2 sketches based on the trunk???

Can you give me a point?

Me too.
by selecting all the surfaces of the trunk and giving it a thick offset that interests you, the work with extending/cutting to obtain a series of continuous surfaces and then you can give it a thickness and work the solid obtained as you like.

...uhmm then, okay, with the help now I managed to create the 0.5mm surface offset but now?
I have to create another superfice that fits the model and then create the solid by filling the space between the two sup? But how?

only one surface that then thickens (the first offset I would have done it "to zero" on the body of the omino and then hanging out). automatically creates a solid "apposed" to the sup father.. from extrusion functions, insert > extrusion/base > thickening. .

You don't have time to get bored, do you?

g r a z i e"Inspection?" and who had seen it before;p

No, never bored

1) oh stà volta sw did not disappoint!
2) "superfici" pussies would really be to be deepened, and I that pansavo was what as a coach. . .

re-thank you all and soon!! !

...temerary...
If you want, I'll "cover" things I couldn't do with swx (e.g. half of my old posts)...

but we know very well that you are a self-desk in unknown that you are trying to prove that autocad is better than cad3d, because with these you can not even make an animated set (with the physical simulaizone obviously) where a truck downloads the gravel cassone (shaped a grain at a time) in a hopper that distributes it through a conveyor belt to the various parts of the system.
caxxo, you don't even feel the "ssscccccccccccc..." of the sand flowing. swx is a cad of the cax:smile:

It bothers me especially that you can't simulate dust... It seems absurd in 2010...

... boys, the jacket is made, but now how could I do for the white stripes that turn all around?
would be to be done on inclined planes, but how do I throw them over the sketch all round and then extrude the thickness of the striscies?

Hello, I am now trying to make the sleeves with the off set surface but tells me to always try with a smaller thickness, and with qlc measures it gives me error without explaining why
In your opinion, how can I also create the sleeves of the jacket?
