For example, if you have to rename a folder of commercial parts (I, for example, noticed that someone named the key commercial folder instead of tabs), how do you proceed?
to rename single files I used the rename command of solidworks.

you use solidworks explorer so it goes to see where the component was used and goes to update references. try first with a folder with "useless" files before sawing the company archive:finger:

when not finding them opens the manual search window; use it and assign the files you need, the next time you "do" find them automatically.. I didn't use 2008 but I remember that with '07 it happened often. since '09 the situation has improved.
or, and is more guaranteed, before opening the axieme open those files in those renamed folders. to open the asses the sw uses those (but if you have not renamed them too..) that already finds open and "memorizes them" permanently.
