Good morning to all:)
I heard about nx time and the fact that there would be a version for linux.
I wanted to ask a couple of things to you users,
First I wanted to ask if it's a software comparable to inventor or solidworks or requires more preparation as I think it can be a casket. (currently using inventor and I just need to move forward, so I don't want to complicate my life, and I don't want to give away a kidney$$$... )
then if you confirm the existence of the linux version and to finish if there is a 30gg demo to try it. . .

Thank you!
Christian

telegraphically:
- linux version exists
- linux version is not 100% "native" as it turns in a x11 window
- support 2 distros (red hat and another one I don't remember, I think suse)
- graphic performances are not bad, but needs careful calibration of the drivers (which is not very simple)
- at the level of calculation performance is great
- in Italy I don't think half of it has been sold on this platform
- the cost depends on the package you want... part from a creo/se/swx price and comes to the caty level for the most complete configurations (in addition to modeling and 2d there are complete freeforms, style surfaces, adv assembly, etc)
- is not a very simple software because it does very sophisticated things, better than catia and sophisticated things are paid in terms of usability
- there is no demo version

Thank you so much!
by x11 do you mean it doesn't go on xorg?
rh and suse, unfortunately many software make this choice, I wonder why not implement ubuntu (I use debian)
We say in this case it's already miraculous that we've made a penguin version.

sin there is no demo, I would have liked to take a look at it.

Thank you!

I would write the linux version for me. and I would focus on that windows (and if you want to make the cum, mac)
once there was only suse, then they introduced the rh. I think because they are the most "supported" not by users, but by society.
by x11 I mean that it is not made with a "native" graphics... in practice there is a x11 window inside which there are all the mfine windows style... so doing you lose some of the features of nx on w7/w8.

Good morning christian,
I confirm that there is a version of nx that works on linux (suse or redhat) and that it is in the plans of siemens to continue to develop on this platform, in fact the nx 9.0 that will be officially launched on October 14 will also work on mac and linux as well as on the usual windows.
we are nx dealers and we have customers who also work on this platform. the last client who had enough of inventor one day called me apologising to have doubted nx :-) and, textual words told me "what with inventor you struggle, with nx you do it with ease". on the rene's speech.... I repeat... I represent a dealer nx ... not an organ dealer :-) contact me privately or look on our site to have more info... you will be surprised :-d

Thank you!

we sold it (on redhat) and... we have a working with us (disuse)

to tell you the truth the customer had left on ubuntu but then it is folded on redhat because it is "managed" from society and therefore avoids some stunt that, even s enon is blocking, however annoying, what on the supported distros does not happen

Thank you so much!

If you want to give him an eye, go to visit us:-)

Thank you very much for your information.
I'm so curious.
the fact that it also functions on ubuntu makes me well hope for debian, and bad that go ubuntu is always better than rh or suse (of course they are personal tastes)
I have already visited the vs. site. But I think I will deepen the matter. :
The risk is that it's a bit "expected" product for what I have to do, but it's never said. We will check:)
Thanks again
