Good morning.
I tested the demo version of spaceclaim 2011+.

I noticed that the software needs very powerful machines.

the demo did not use the multicore processor (provided on two pcs) and therefore did not work at maximum speed. (I also saw in the spaceclaim forum other users with the same problem)

It seems to me that spaceclaim works well with 64bits. Too bad the demo has these bugs. then every once in a while the software planned, I mean I didn't have a good impression for the stability aspect.

I used a dual core and a quad core with windows xp and 7 32bit and over 3 ram giga.

the program seems to me great and very promising, the 2012 version seems to me that it begins to be very interesting also for carpenters account thirds.

clearly the more the machine is performing the better.
With regard to multicore, it is not a release bug, it is that geometric engines in general are not multithread, that is, algorithms are not parallel, or rather, are paralleled only for a very small part of functionality.
at the hardware level, however, there is to say that, unlike almost all other 3d cads in circulation, spaceclaim works egregiously even without framework cards (envy) or firegl (ati) specific for cad, and much more expensive than non cad counterparts (typically aimed at the gamer market).

Thank you very kind.
I try to follow your advice.

the machine I use is a quadcore q6600 with 4 giga (but it sees only 3)

video card nvidia picture fx370 .
I try the various updates, thanks and a greeting.

I'm falling for spaceclaim

Yes, I think the use for an accountant is optimal. amounts a geometry designed with another cad, without the "history" of geometry you the cables as if you had drawn it in spaceclaim. Other cads work well with the files produced by the same cad and acting as a features tree, but when importing files the features tree is not there!

I'm testing with gpu-z to evaluate the optimal graphics card: At the moment I would say that a directx card like the gtx series of nvidia is perfect (it would be good also the analogue amd, but I do not know their catalog well). I also recommend a fast processor, with no more than four cores, lacking speed (spaceclaim manages to parallelize many things, but the bottleneck is made up of the kernel that, like all the kernels of all cad, is unfortunately single thread). in the current range of intel means losing xeon (unless you need anything else, e.g. calculation) and pointing on an i7 2700 (if you are handy of overclocking also a 2700k to turn to 4.0ghz) or a good i5 2500 (if you don't compute the 4 threads are fine instead of the 4x2 of the most expensive i7).

In summary: with less than 1500€ you get the ideal workstation for sc.

ps: vmax tips are authoritative... is among users who use professional sc for more time

by experience I know that dual core is generally the best solution.
of overclocking are very practical I have made a lot of experience.
having to change pcs for software is an additional cost that I do not want to face at the moment, given the economic situation in general.
I want to understand if there are bottlenecks in my car and if spaceclaim12 is improved (in theory yes) as speed.

spaceclaim 2012 has several improvements in detail and consolidation compared to sc2011.

Consider that I also use it on a q6600 and I feel good.

Well, I also tried the 2012 version (now the demo expires) and made an online minicourse.
I must say that 2012 has several improvements compared to 2011 (very faster in combined drags for example and better manages the sheet world).

really great software in my way to see.

I hope that the government or the spaceclaim foresee in the near future some form of incentive to purchase (as Mr tremonti did) so you can make the investment of the software without risking too much (in this period you are blocking everything and liquidity is very important)
