I heard a moment ago the developers of femdesigner, and they are all working for fea integration both on the 32-bit version of alibre. Unfortunately alibre has been completely rewritten with the 2011 version, and so also the integrated femdesigner tuning is taking away more time than expected.

at the present time therefore femdesigner is available autonomous from alibre (demo in www.femdesigner.it) and femdesigner developers are all working for the integrated version in alibre.

alibre itself has made available its internal developer for this fea integration project.

4. few japanese strings inside the alibre motion dialogs display incorrectly.
5. emf format of 2d drawing opens blank with text missing in 2011

6. issue with regenerating a saved part and unable to apply constraints in polish os

several minor improvements and five bugs fixed since build 13060:

1. occasional failure to open previously saved assembly due to 'object reference error'. the problem is caused by a recently added assembly constraint that incorrectly points to a wrong parameter name in the saved file

2. lock up while opening a part (or an assembly containing it) that has a 'design boolean' feature that is out of date and has to be re-evaluated at the time of open

3. failure to open previously saved assembly having an assembly constraint that uses reference geometry (plane, axis etc) in a sub-assembly that the user has deleted prior to the last save of the assembly.

4. operations such as suppressing a part or deleting a part or changing the configuration of an included component not completing properly owing to the presence of one or more sub-assemblies that have been made 'flexible'

femdesigner for alibre is finally available (http://www.femdesigner.it) ed in http://www.lista.it/alibre/tutorials.html , thinking about doing what is useful, we are inserting the pdf of the simplest exercises, in Italian, so as to allow a summary evaluation of the software even before installing it.

the service pack 2 of 2012 alibre both 32 and 64 bit (build 14.0.2.14052) were released today as well as new alibre exchange and alibre viewer. users under support contract can download them by signing-in with their data in www.alibre.com and after giving consent to "upgrade to newer versions" from the page "my account info".
 
some details about the news of March 2012 for the cad alibre:

1) service pack 2 for alibre 2012 to 32 and 64 bit: arranged 35 smaller and updated translate (http://www.lista.it/alibre/alibre_translate.html) for the import of axes and parts in native cad format (solidworks from 1999 to 2012, inventor from v.9 to 2012, pro/e from 2000 to wildfire 5 and creo 1.0, solidedge from v10 to st4, catia from v5 r10 to r21, parasolid from v18 to v.22).

2) alibre viewer: support free users can grant a "read-only" version of their cad free to their suppliers, customers and consultants to be able to work more proficiently together
