competition for the new city brand
the sample, in collaboration with the faculty of communication of the university wisdom, indicates a national competition of ideas for a new logotype brand representing the city of Rome.
destined for the tourist and cultural promotion of the city the brand will have to be flexible, to be used to the whole field, including merchandising.
the new logo of roma must be "strongly representative of the charm and prestige of the city and its historical, cultural and territorial uniqueness" and must "prescind from the official and institutional symbol of the municipality of roma".
the winner will also have to carry out a manual with the rules of use for the different applications of the brand, unless the award is assigned.
the theme of the image is unique and mandatory: the proposed brand must necessarily represent the chapter wolve, symbol of the foundation of roma, and must be accompanied by the word "roma".
can participate: companies and studies of graphics, design, advertising, communication; graphic designers and architects who practice the profession (in both free and dependent form);
- graduates, graduates and students at schools – post-diploma or university level – of graphics, design, visual communication, advertising, fine arts, cultural goods.
common requirement for all is residence in national territory.
the contest is open to both individuals and groups, not legally constituted.
the projects will be examined by a committee composed of representatives of the municipality, university wisdom and communication experts.
the commission will choose the winner and will approve the ranking.
if no project adapted to the objectives of the call will be identified, the ineffectiveness of the ideas contest will be declared.
to the winner will go 40 thousand euros.
in the case of the award to a group, the sum will be divided into shares.
the proposals will have to be delivered, from 24 August next, no later than 6 October 2009.
