Hello I am trying to design with creo 2.0 a cording machine and now that I have built all the elements are in front of a dilemma that in the past I have never faced:
how do I create the ropes that then during the movement of the machinery gradually turn into a trefol during the animation?

Hi.

According to me, if you correctly parameterize the part with inside the trefolo you can see it moving without additional modules.

- you can use as a trajectory for the helical sweep a curve (vertical line) of sketch with height d1 of length.
- inside the helical sweep sketch you can insert these relationships

Spire=d1/pass /* step= distance spira del trefolo
sd0=trajpar*360*spire /* sd0= angle of sweep

- at the end of the propeller you pass an axis (passing for the top of the tangent propeller to the propeller itself) and on the axis a distant point d2 from the vertex of the propeller.
- insert a pass curve for the last points (point and vertex) and, by copying the curve of the propeller + the curve on the axis, you get the trajectory of the sweep for the cable.
- on the latter (trajectory of the cable = curve of the propeller + curve on the axis ) there positions a point at the real distance from the extreme of the propeller equal to the value of the non-vultured cable (real length) and fill the trajectory of the cable.
- create the cable sweep on the trimmed curve.
- you can generate the cable series to have the correct number (vertical axis series for the number/angle of desired cables)
- suitably varying the value d1 you get the animation of the cable winding.
