hello to all I am a mechanical engineering student, I have to realize on ansys a process of welding between two steel plates aisi304 and aisi410, through the laser-mag hybrid technique.before entering me however in the simulation I would like to have some general news on the technique, for example type of equipment, process parameters, predictions and defects regarding conventional techniques, would you have some sources to recommend?

laser welding is carried out with a different equipment constructively compared to other types of welding and the advantage is almost non-existent slag, local heating, suitable for welding of stainless steel and special materials.

laser welding is automated.

Thank you! but my problem concerns the hybrid welding made up of two energy sources: that laser, which as you said has the advantage of having a high energy density, and therefore an absolute content of energy considerably lower than conventional techniques, so it allows to have thermally altered areas much lower, and high processing speeds; and that mag, exploiting an electrode consisting of metal intake, immersed in a gas that serves to protect the material.

normally do not make two welds simultaneously. operating techniques often prevent it.

last year I made an automatic machine for welding stainless steel fittings with stainless tubes. the first tig welded lap and plasma welded lap.

with mag very much material, therefore large cord, great resistance, high heating.

with laser not affixed material, joints wires and pipes or rings, is not a strong resistential characteristic welding if not carried out with criterion.

No offense but I think you have to document, the hybrid welds exist!!

I am not offended, so many types of unconventional processing that it is difficult to keep up, especially if it is not its sector.

the best thing would be to recover information from equipment manufacturers.

Thank you very much, I'll see to recover some experimental theses.
