salome 5.1.5 per windows

from a few weeks is available salome 5.1.5 for linux. from today there is also an experimental version for windows:
http://files.salome-platform.org/cea/adam/salomewindows/download/to be noticed non includes the fem solutor, you can only use it as pre-post processor.

interesting, there are pre/post non-opensource and paid processors that offer much less. Do you know which solutors are usable (other than code aster)?

Uh, no.

definitely elmer, but do first to see the import/export formats of the meshatore and post-processor, among which is the unv.
ef develops this software for internal use, and then gently gives it in use to everyone, so that compatibility with third-party products interests him little. soft treats the unv format as the software that uses it natively (ideas?) is used in ef.

However, salome is as discreet as a meshatore, but as a modeler it's still very far-reaching and slow. definitely better to use an external modeler, even for defeaturing operations, with all the problems that this entails (I change the model 3d --> I remake the mesh as head).

If you exclude integrated fems, all others are put more or less so at the geometry level... from ansys to patran to femap to nastran fx!
