I checked and microsoft visual study 2008 (x64) redistributable is already installed

Actually, it looks like it's blocking during the decompression of the downloaded archive. Did you try to reload it?

I managed to track it down, it should have been caused by an antivirus problem that blocked something.

Now I can throw salomas with run-salome, the screen appears with the home page

but as I click on any icon the program crashes

and to the right of the salome writing 7.3.0 appears the message: He's not answering. )

I also do not know how to import mesch for example from stl files or other .

a thing I would like to know is if salome 7.3.0 is equal to meca salome

or is it another version and should I install it? Where can I do the downlad?

I am not the same thing: salome-meca has the solutore fem that instead smooth salome does not have.

with simple templates you can only model (you do to say), meshare, and analyze the results of analysis with the post processor. Unfortunately salome-meca exists only for linux, and I do not believe that a version for windows is in anticipation.

So salome is just a mesch modeler. I could use it anyway importing mesch

from blender with stl and then export to step files.

I tried to model with salome but it seems very complicated.

it is better to make mesch in blender and then bring it into salome.

is a configuration suitable for turning meca silhouettes under linux?
