Hello everyone, I'm new.

I downloaded the software fea salomeca 5.1.3 in ubuntu 8.10.
athlonxp processor and video card atiradeon 128mb.
good that is free (for straus7 they asked me 4000 euros) and seems decent to the first contact.
the inconvenience that at the moment makes me unusable is the instability of visualization, in the sense that removed the pointer from the realized figure this becomes invisible with grey background.

Does anyone have experience with this?

the problem are the drivers of the video card: opensource applications do not yet have a sufficient level of quality to use opengl applications as templates.

check if the owners ati drivers are available for your card, that way 90% you should solve the problem.

if they do not exist, try to change video card: it is good a nvidia from a few euros to easily exploit salome (as long as there are the owners drivers for the combination of your linux and your video card, exactly as per ati).
